Got my 58 D14 out on the weekend and noticed that the rubber air breather tube from the carb is all soft and spongy. Looks like gas from the carb was running into it. I had the carb cleaned last year and the float was reset - it runs great. Could it be the needle and seat that is causing this? Anyone have other thoughts? Many thanks!

Yep, leaky/sticking needle & seat or possibly float level set too high. Always wise to shut the fuel off at the tank when not in use ; )
