WIll a D17 IV carb work on 170 that has a Zenith on it? I think ( I just have the carb, not the whole tractor) the 170 carb sits on the tractor with the air inlet going forward where as the D17 IV carb has the air inlet to the rear, so I think the choke cable hooks up differently, but maybe it could be reveresed.

Mine has the threads stripped out of the bottom where the hi speed adjustment nozzle screws in and I tried to heli-coil it but it did not work out very well. I found a used rebuildable core, but it had the threads gone too.

Anyone know where I could find a carb for this tractor?

Thanks!

170 has a little bigger Vent. Should give another 2
or 3 hp.

I have used the tsx853 and changed the throttle shaft and choke shaft to the other side.

Call Treadwell Carb 607-829-8321. Knows his stuff, works on all carbs including vintage car/truck. I won't send to anyone else anymore, media blasted, looks like new, just mask off/paint, bolt it up and every one he has done for me has started/run flawlessly.
Pretty good turnaround time and reasonably priced as well.

D19 carb faces forward when used on that side.
