We got one on a R62. It is not the end off the world most folks claim. If it’s well greased and maintained it’s not that loud. Unload speed is tolerable. I really like the fact I have more clearance and in turn more reach than a swivel.
It’s not as bad as Illinois Gleaner will say. We did have to rebuild ours this year do to a bearing failure looking back if I had parts in hand I bet it could be done in a long day. |

I have a turret on my r76 no problems yet. Yes it's a little loud but who cares about that. I had one on a r72 a few years back and did have to have it rebuilt but it was traded in on the 76. I would prefer the swivel over the turret mainly because the turret has more things to go wrong but I wouldn't let that stand in my way of buying a good combine.

Dont spend extra to get one, but dont pass up a good deal because it has it.
Yes, the Gleaner swivel that we all know and love is superior in many ways, but I would rather own a Gleaner with a turret than a JD with a turret. ;) |

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.
If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help. |
