Looking to buy 2200 gas engine that fits AC H4 crawler loader and similar applications.
Please PM with anything you might have available including distributors, starters, head, pushrods, etc.

Engine was also used in some forklifts and also cotton pickers - least some versions gas and or diesel .

Thanks Coke - will check through Norms Ind Book to see what forklifts may contain the G2200 engine.
As always - appreciate the help.

Good Morning AC Team - Am bumping this post up - am still looking for an AC H4 gas engine.
Primarily looking on the east coast - PA, NY, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts or Southern Ontario Canada.

Might check south also to see on cotton picker engines or
Should be some HD4 machines out there also where good engine and bad machine

Coke: Thanks for the insights - I see the Allis Cotton pickers/strippers showed to have a 433 diesel block. So will look into that a bit - not sure that there were gas G2200 blocks in those applications - at least according to Norm Swinfords book.
Am going to run parts numbers soon to see what matches between the diesel and the gas blocks.

Zimmerman's in Versailles mo. has a very large dozer junkyard. I do believe he has some h4 stuff. I know he goes out east to penn and buys dozers from a yard out there so he probably could deliver one for you. they seem to be very knowledge and honest people. type I Zimmerman's Versailles Missouri.

I will be difficult to find a G2200 - I looked and did not see anything posted - however I did not SEARCH... If I needed a G2200 I would find a F2 or any 4.33 - hopefully you have a head - have it rebuilt and use the 190 gas pistons. We did this and used the diesel cam as the old gas was pretty flat spotted and it ran fine. IF the cam had been good we would have reused it. The 4.33 has all the crank oiling with the slightly deeper front drop on the pan which may or may not be an issue in your case ----- what about a diesel swap out ? is there room ?. If not room for turbo the pump can be turned down and the turbo removed... ??

the 2200 block is the same for gas or diesel - so depending what you need - if just the block either will work to rebuild into the other fuel

TBran, Coke, Pinball: Appreciate the good insights. I ran the parts numbers and the blocks interchange. However, the gas piston lower skirt area shows a different shorter configuration. Cams have different numbers by one digit. Would need a distributor for a gas model of course. Gas also shows a diaphragm type fuel pump.
Heads are different, 17 of the 21 head bolt are common to both gas and diesel engines.
Flywheel and Starters are different numbers - assuming the diesel version has a heavier starter.
Oil pump and Oil pan same.
Torque Converter the same.
Can someone supply the carburetor make and model for the G2200 engine? Is it a Holley, Zenith or Marvel??

I would also check into the motors from an 180 or 190. I know lot of the parts are the same as the 2200.

Pinball - thanks for the note on the Zenith carb. Yes the 180 and 190 301's share some common parts with the D and G2200 engines.

If the internals are similar to a 180/190 gas engine, they are 265 cubes, not 301 like the 190XT. 3 3/4" bore x 4 inch stroke for a 265 G-2500 engine..
