so the pressure's off!!
The oil pressure gauge on the D-17 Series II I picked up last fall only registered about 8 to 10 PSI which bothered me some.
So....I unhooked the gauge line at the filter housing and installed a known good S-W gauge right at the housing.
The pressure is actually over 30 PSI at idle when warmed up to about 160 deg.
The temp never gets above that so I've got to try a new thermostat.
I also discovered that the generator is not charging.
While I was at it, I changed the oil & filter using Rotella-T 30W.
The good oil pressure really made my day and I'm happier than a pig in the slop trough!! LOL
