I got this engine a couple weeks ago and had it running the next day. Just finally got a few minutes to shoot a video of starting it. See what you all think.

That looks like sompin I need. I have a 1934 South Bend lathe with a line shaft and always thought I should put it on a trailer to take to shows. Alls I need is the engine to run it.

Good running engine - what are you planning to use it for? One suggestion would be to secure the exhaust pipe to avoid having it fall out hot.

Dave : The exhaust pipe wiggles but takes quite a tug to get it out. I have many plans for this engine but mainly it will be mounted to one end of a wagon frame and my Chatanooga #72 cane mill will be mounted to the other end. When I come up with a set of running gears, they will be the permanent home for the mill. This engine, on the other hand, will likely be moved from time to time to the baler it came off of. It may also find itself cranking out ice cream when and if I come up with one of those 20 quart ice cream freezers, hopefully without having to pay out another grand ! You can see the cane mill here, http://www.allischalmers.com/new/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10336&KW=cane+mill&PID=90075&title=got-me-a-cane-mill-and-now-its-home#90075

Anyone got a set of AC running gears they'd part with ?

Charlie : There are two of these engines on ebay north east of Cleavland. I wrote to the person, made a tentative offer of $400, said he would take $600. They have spark and turn freely. He doesn't know how to try to start them. I offered to help get them started but he never wrote back. I'd love to have them but just don't have the time to drive 6 hours each way besides the money ! They aren't as complete as mine but for work other than a baler, they would do fine. I'd be happy to help get them running.  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180520958257&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
