My owners manual proudly proclaims there are no grease zirks on the tractor. My new CA has one. Looks like a previous owner rigged up the steering fluid fill hole with a zirk. I think the tractor has pretty tight steering, maybe 15-20% slop. Should I leave well enough alone, or will grease damage the gears.

when the shaft seals start to leak out the gear lube, it was common to put a zerk in the fill hole and fill with grease instead. Adding several pumps of new grease would be fine.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

You'd be better off taking that grease zerk out its supposed to be a plug. if it leaks oil out put pourable grease instead, gun grease wont lube the pedestal bearings. pourable grease (also know as corn head grease) will at least get down to the bearing.
