What do you guys think about this dozer? Is replacing the driveshaft a deal killer?

First it would have to run, there are parts machines out there for a shaft MinnPar may have components as I do not know why it would need an entire shaft. Has Rockwell bolt down u-joints so may be able to purchase thru a truck shop by dimensions.

As to the $4000, rails are shot, shoes are too where those are a non-available. Have toyed with installing Cat 6.906 rails on worn sprocket but if have bad rollers then the trucks will need come off for mod to another manufacturer.

Again it will need to start and run for $4000.

Ok...I'll weigh in on this...normally a drive shaft would be a simple fix....butttt.... more than once we've seen these driveshafts destroy the torque converter shaft leading to torque converter removal and replacement of shaft....which are hard to find. It would be good if you could look at the tractor and check out the drive shaft. Then again maybe it's as simple as changing a u joint. If you only have one of these tractors and need all of those parts and some undercarriage too...it could be very expensive.
Soooo...all that being said...I'm going to sign on with Trevor...if you had more than one of these tractors (he does...we have 4) I would pay $4000.00 in a heartbeat for this for a parts tractor...hope that doesn't confuse you to much.

Thank you, gentlemen.  If I were to buy it, it would be my first dozer purchase. Nothing around here but, a couple of small farm tractors.

Maybe tackling a monster like this HD11 is a bit too much for me.

If you could find another in the same price range that was running and working then buy this for parts.
