That is an awesome picture.
And the timing couldn't be better! What is the correct name for the implement on the left, do they work good, and how much are they worth? I just happened to come upon one nearby, and am seriously thinking about buying it to replace the spring tooth drag I have.... |

Where can I get a 10' or 12' machine? I could have bought two of them 20 years ago for little of nothing. Dang.

Notice the color of the wheels. If on rubber, black. If steel wheels, orange. That is a great picture.

I have about 20 photos that I got from Allis-Chalmers when I was a kid. They are 8x10s they range from a real early B to the 220. I wrote to A-C and asked for some pictures I'm thinking it was about 1969. I would never get rid of them !

Great pic! The steel wheels have no teeth (Treads?) Did they ship that way, or was this a dealer Demo model?

Steel wheeled tractors were usually shipped to the dealers with no lugs on the wheels. There were different lug types and spacings available and they were usually dealer installed to what the purchaser wanted. Also the smooth wheels didn't damage the decks of the railroad flat cars that they were shipped on.

Its fun zooming in close, you can see the early wc oil filter canister? Also the rv4 mag, and apparently the 1935 wc tractors did have the "Allis Chalmers" painted black on the radiator. I have a 1936 with the original paint and the letters are orange.

Pop the clutch on that WC and you'd burn some steel!
Great picture. Anyone able to read the smaller words on the sign on the other building. Twin, something, maybe a hint of where it was. Edited by JohnCO - 29 Apr 2017 at 11:12pm |

Thanks to all who posted. Love these old photo's. Although it was the middle of The Great Depression, it seems like a better time. At least Allis Chalmers was on its way up then.
