Ran across this one on Craigslist outside Chicago. 1936 Allis Chalmers tractor, Is in overall good shape other than the
engine has a crack in the block.

LOL Last time I looked Plainfield was on that corner of the world.
That may be the going rate for 1936 WC, but it doesn't have fenders which can get a little expensive. On the plus side it has the round spoke wheels. Unless the seller gets it running it is a $500 tractor. It could cost $500 to $1000 to put tires on it if you can find some decent used ones. Other gotchas beyong the crack in the engine are the carburator, magneto, clutch and brakes.
A guy could end up with $2000 in the that tractor and still have a $1000 tractor.

Gotta agree with you, John. A running/testable machine would be a lot more saleable. I understand that it was left over the winter w/o antifreeze.....too bad, but maybe it's something that can be repaired.
