Working on a NH 850 round baler with electric tie, the previous owner took the switch with him to make the tie work; so, can I use a toggle switch with a neutral and hot on both ends ? The electric motor runs one way then you have to switch the polarity on the battery to make it run the other way ???? Ive never messed with these !!! Or what kinda switch would I use ?   The electric motor will run the tie arm about 6 inches and quit; Ive lubed up everything and worked it without the cable and it work easily, but with the cable attatched and under a load it just quits ;  Thanks for any advise , Im kinda stumped on the reversing the battery hookups- what kinda switch will work ?? I believe the motor maybe shot but is there anything else to check??

Have what they call an actuator arm on my baler that was refitted to run twine tie on my baler.Just extens out and retracks. Discovered it needs to be left anywhere other than ran tight to the stop what it gets stuck when unit cools, then I need to take it off to give the tube a twist to get threads to turn again.
I had to make my own switch for mine too, I used a momentary ON toggle switch that is a dpdt switch. (double pole, double throw)  The switch will have 6 lugs on it. The two center lugs will be your neg and pos wires from battery. Lets call those terminals 3&4. Then select the one end or the other of the lugs and call them 1&2, take a couple jumper wires and crisscross them from lugs 1&2 to outer lugs 5&6 on other side. (X) Now connect the twine tie wires to  either end of switch.
Hope what I tried to describe is of help.
