Not sure what show, my crappy college television system doesn't have a guide or anything.
Anyways...these people homestead in Alaska. A guy was pulling an empty manure spreader with an 8N, and for some reason he drove right through this giant hole. The tractor went through ok, but when 1 spreader wheel dropped in the hole, he stopped moving and the wheels were spinning! LOL
He called another guy to come help him. The tractor was a Allis 5020. He hooked on the spreader with it, and pulled both the spreader and 8N backwards until the spreader was out of the hole.

Ford vs hole in the ground? Hole wins!

Allis vs all that ^ ? Allis wins!

He then loaded the spreader with the Allis and went off on his way.

Alaska the Last Frontier.

He 'appears' to beat the hell out of his equipment.  I say appears, because you all know the editing has to make up the drama, or it won't sell.

Exactly!

One thing I wonder...if they're in the remote wilderness, where do they get fuel for all their tractors/4 wheelers/chainsaws/etc.? Does the show fly it in, or are they really not that far out in the woods?

Creston, That show is:  "Alaska - The Last Frontier".  It's on Discovery Channel on Direct TV here and has been on at least a couple years.  They have at least two maybe three different 50X0 series tractors.  They also have a two cylinder John Deere maybe an "A"??
Kind of an interesting show but I am sure it is scripted like all so called "reality" shows. Anything to do with Alaska is going to be interesting to me.

I saw them using a 100 series tractor a couple times, don't know which one it was tho. you can go to their web site and get a couple live cams on their place. also isn't Otto's daughter a famous singer? or is she a grand daughter?

I thought that was Adz's daughter?

I thought it was humerus when Charlotte got concerned about Otto getting kicked in the balls last night.  LOL

we can't get cable here, I always enjoyed the show just for the scenery, and I could laugh at all the drama they created for the show!

That show is semi-scripted to make for good TV. They want to give the impression they are WAY out there (without ever really saying so) but they are not really that far from Homer, AK. Maybe 15 miles. It's still entertaining to me and even though they are close to Homer, life there could still be a challenge.

The John Deere they show from time to time is an MT. Vertical 2-cylinder made in the Dubuque, Iowa plant.

The famous singer related to them goes by just Jewell.    It's Atz's daughter. She was pretty popular for a while but haven't heard much out of her lately. Google Jewell Kilcher.

For a wedding show, they used a B Allis to haul to to the wedding site and haul the couple away after.
Jewel has a GREAT voice and is underrated as a singer in my book.

appreciate you posting that Charlie.

Alaska is just one place that can get in your blood.  We lived up there for three years while in the military.  I always keep pinching my pennies to go back.  The creeks don't rise and all that, the  wife and I will be back there for 10 days next June.  hope to hook into a nice Ling Cod at Seward.  Last time at Seward i finally caught a, what I thought was, a nice Halibut at 52 lbs.
