How light can u get a 180 or 185 and what would be a good motor to build for a 7000 lb 414 cubic inch limit open class

292 Combine motor is a GM engine. I presume you are looking for an Allis engine, in this case the 301 would be your only possibility for a gasser.

There is a 190 for sale privately . It's 414 proven winner roller cam Aircraft carburetor all the best stuff. Think 18.4x38s. It pulled naturally aspirated modified stock class. 7000 or 7500 would sale just the motor I'm sure

Is it not true that a 292 actually came out in some of the gleanor combines? I was told that. what can u build a 301 up to?

180 would be a great candidate for the class, build a 301 up. They can go well over 500 ci if you want to go that big. 415 gas would be a very reliable strong settup. Mesage me if you like , I've built them at 410, 450 and 526

Yes many Gleaner combines used a GM engine in later years. Getting it to fit in a 180 or 185 frame would take some creativity... |

Larry w thanks just looking and planning right now . thanks for the offer I will get in touch . my d 17 was just a little undersized for the 7000 lb class. actually didn't run out of power but way too much weight on it. over 2300 lbs

Here's a thought if you can use a combine motor from a gleaner in a Ac tractor and say it's ok per your rules then put a 350 chevy in it and say it came off a m or l gas combine
