I always wondered if my B could pull a rototiller, so I mounted a 5', 3-point tiller and hit the garden. Definitely a little big for the B as I had to run it wide open in first gear in order for it to work. It would probably run a 4' tiller without a problem, but I still recommend using a 5' disk instead. I also found the B pulls a 5' finish Bush Hog without a problem. I could spend all day on this little tractor, it's that much fun! I'm always looking for some new things to pull with the B, please feel free to chime in letting me know what you run/pull with your B. :) |

How did you keep from going too fast?
Sometimes I think 1st is too fast for mowing with my B, though it does has 14.9 x 24's on the back

www.allischalmers.com : Netcraft / Whois mIP address : 67.19.58.12 Country : United States (US) Region : Texas City : Houston Latitude : 29.7523 Longitude : -95.367 See on Google Maps I usually mow the grass before it gets tall. I mow one acre with a 5' finish mower and usually mow in second gear at half throttle. I have run into problems if the grass is too high, or if it is really thick. In this case, it would be nice to have a little lower 1st gear. As for the tiller, it's just too much for the B. www.allischalmers.com : Netcraft / Whois IP address : 67.19.58.12 Country : United States (US) Region : Texas City : Houston Latitude : 29.7523 Longitude : -95.367 See on Google Maps Edited by Dean (West MI) - 24 May 2010 at 10:47pm |

I have only pulled a 10' wagon with it so far, loaded with kids. I also have used the belly sickle to good effect, its nice to not need to look back all the time!
I want to get a 3 point, but want to keep my drawbar. Can I do that?

Does my heart good to hear all the good remarks concerning my favorate. Don't forget when the B came out in the 30's quite a few used the B as the main tractor on a 100 acre farm because they could not afford anything else.
Good Luck!

Nice counterweight on the front. If you had one of those Sherman under drives, you might have a good tiller tractor.

Yes, mine mounts to the drawbar also. This setup is very handy as I can still use my drawbar mounted plow and disk. |

You've piqued my interest, what is a Sherman under drive? I did a google search but could not find anything. Do you have any pictures? |

Sherman made auxiliary trannys that bolted between the torque tube and the factory tranny. Somebody had a picture recently of one on a CA I think. They were made for WC's and lots of other tractors, Ford 8N comes to mind. They are not too common so start looking hard and save your money. I should note that some were step up and some were step down. I have heard of high and low in the same box but don't know about those.
