I like the flashing 4 ways on the truck !!

even though I KNOW it's safe, I was holding the stick fwd to make sure I didn't 'prelaunch'.

so I have to ask the obvious question..
HOW did the plane ARRIVE at the airport ??

BTW I don't miss having to pump out the floats on a certain twin Beech

As Amos said.
Real light touch down and then full throttle and pull back hard on the yoke, then dump power. Looks weird but works well.

Shameless... speaking from experience emergency landings in those planes on dirt are not the best... may have worked better without the trees

pretty cool, but it would take a real skilled pilot to do that in anything but a direct headwind!!!!!!

Quite likely it was either hauled there needing major work, or it arrived on wheels, and they installed the floats.  Just a guess.

Some pontoons have wheels that you can extend and retract from the cockpit. this one evidently didn't. Took my wife up in one on our Honeymoon, and a couple times since.

that was in Saskatoon, Sk.
in P.A. we just use the grass for landing, and a dolly for takeoff.... dolly goes flying all ways to sunday, but usually don't get too many runway lights damaged.
