Can somebody tell me what the original battery group size is on the Allis 620 720 tractors.  I think it's group 70, but it's not an easy battery to find locally.  The previous owner slapped one of those small lawn batteries in it.

Not real sure I've got a large battery in my 720 and a 420amp Lawn battery in 620 has been starting everytime may be due to the external alt keeping it charged

That little lawn battery starts it just fine too.  I was wanting to get the original back in it...  It's funny how that little battery can throw that onan around and yet the same battery in my little craftsman riding mower it struggles to turn.  I always cussed the battery, but now I'm thinking these new tractors just have puny starters.

Walmart says Group 75N.
Side mount type terminals, with battery in the machine, the terminals are facing the front, + is on the right side of tractor. And there is a spring retained steel cover, that got mentioned here the other day.

Group 70. I got mine locally at Fleet Farm in Wisconsin.
It called for that in there battery catalog for the Simplicity 9020. It was a front mount battery and it fits good.
Good luck,
