I still need to get a dial indicator and check the lobes, but if my cam and lifters are worn what are my options? Are new cams available?

Pack up your worn camshaft and tappets and send them to Berry Cam Service in Lester Prairie, MN. They will come back reground, like new for about $200.

are they able to build back up the lobes and grind back to factory lift or do they just find the smallest lobe and grind all to match that one, when I did my d19 I bought a reground cam and it was wore out, sent it back and used a gas cam.

You can have factory lift with a smaller base circle diameter on the lobe. Thats how higher lift cams are made. The tappet doesn't come up any higher, it just goes down farther.
