Well, we have dad's tractor split now because the pto didn't disengage with the hand lever. once it was split we found that the pins that hold the release bearing to the fork fell out and where laying on the bottom of the bell housing. Easy fix on that part. The question is on the clutch release lever adjustment on the clutch. The shop manual mentions of an adjusting plate and a pilot shaft. The tool number is ACTP-3082 or ACTP-3103. I am wondering if there is another way to adjust the levers with out the tool.Or does someone have the specs on the tool that we can get one made up . We have not touched the adjustment of the levers yet, we just want to make sure everything is within spec before it goes back together. Thanks

Can't help on the tool but why did the pins fall out? If it happened once it will happen again.

Good thought,never thought of that. The PO had put a clutch in it before, by looking at other repairs " or lack of" that have been done years before I'm not sure things where done the way they should have been. Dad bought the tractor in October so this is all new to us.

I think the snap pins need to be replaced.
One time I squeezed them together to prevent what happened to you but by the next time I did the clutch, I replaced them. I had a 6070 with over 9000 hrs and had done the clutch four times prior to selling it.

Mack, there is more work being done. The rear fenders ,floor boards and under the seat are rotted out.and the engine has oil leaks that we are fixing now.
