Our D-19 is putting the power director oil in the transmission. This happened suddenly while I was on the way home from the plow day Saturday and it is transferring very fast. I assume a seal between has gone south and I will have to split it? Dont remember this problem ever being posted before on a D-19? Thanks in advance for any advise

yes sir...splitting is required at the torque tube and Tranny housing. drain the oil in both compartments and take the pto out. there will be Two seals that come out and you will need to replace both. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with my D-19 Diesel. It had a bad pto seal. You will have to split it  to fix it. When i had mine apart i also put in  a new transmission input shaft seal and retainer gasket, all 3 pto shaft seals. There are two inside. one to keep power director oil out of the transmission and one to keep oil in the transmission, plus all the orings  and gaskets that i could.  hope this helps Matt

Drain the oils first....not after you split it....that could be messy! ;)
