The 616 I bought this summer is now showing a draw on the amp meter when the clutch/lights are engaged. Where would you guy's start trouble shooting?
Thanks! David

Start right at the Battery. The Battery might be on its way out. Slow charge the Battery to full, wait 20 minutes or so and pull a draw test. If it flunks the draw test, there's your culprit. If the Battery passes the draw test, you may have a wire or wires grounding on the chassis. Especially in the engine box area. Pretty tight in there! Take the circuit breaker out of the Battery feed circuit (by-pass it) and see if it stays the same. If it stays the same its not a bad circuit breaker or connection at the breaker. I think you installed a new flywheel and stator didn't you? Or, is this the newest one you picked up?

This is on the newer tractor but I do have the hardware from the old. I threw in a known good battery and its still draining. With the front clutch engaged I'm at -4amps with the lights and front clutch -10amps. funny thing is I have never had it shut off while using it but you can tell the engine does not sound right after running a while, ignition sounds weak.

Might need an Ignition switch Dave. That's pullin' a lot of amps off such a small 15 amp system. Ignition switches get a lot of corrosion around em' especially if its the original. Its a popular item with us in our 620 parts section. See if the switch is getting warm or hot.

Are you talking the key switch? I have had an issue the whole time whereby ou hit the key and hear the starter hit but not turn. Then after a few it takes off. I assumed it was a starter issue.

well the problem progressed over the weekend, now the tractor will not start but has full lights. I can hear the circuit breaker trip and reset so I guess I have to look for a cracked wire.
