I'm wanting to put a Gleaner engine in my 45 and have it bored and stoked. My question is what would work the best?
Thanks |

If you're going to bore and stroke why spend the extra on a Gleaner engine and not use a regular G226? The full flow oiling is nice but not a huge gain.

Your engine is a W-226 if in a WD-45. The Gleaner model "E" engine is a G-226, almost identical to a D-17 tractor. The G-226 has a stronger crankshaft and block versus the W-226. You must be thinking for next Summer, right??

Well, if you find someone to weld you up a 6 inch stroke crank yet this Summer, I want his name and phone number. OK ??

Yes, you can go all the way to 6.5 and a little farther.

Certainly....tons of it. It takes different connecting rods (or custom built rods) and smaller diameter rod journals and grinding where there's interference. Sometimes the oil pan needs to be swelled up in places to allow room for the swing. Buda rods can be taken to 5.800" stroke....not sure if I'd try 6.000" or not with them.

Thanks, I'm new to the a/c btand and just bought a wd45 to build into a puller. I'm trying to find options for more power. I know there is a high compression 4 1/4 bore kit but not sure how much power i will gain with this alone. Thanks again

The 4 1/4" is a different kit than a 4 1/8" flat top WC/WD kit.
