I have a D17 and I was wanting to know if gear oil or hydraulic oil is suppose to go in the transmission. Also if I leave my tractor out in the rain, water gets in the hydraulic oil for the lift. I was wondering if anyone might know where it could be coming in from.

A universal Hytran fluid will work just fine in the transmission and differential. That is where the tran part of the name comes from.
