At 8500 lbs, you better have bald rear tires.

The pump will need to be a very good Roosa if that's what you are going to use. Have Ed do it. He will get every drop of delivery out of it which you will need.
- It will take a dual disk clutch. - You will have to remove the power director clutch. - You will most likely need more than 301 cubic inches. - If you can run an ice water intercooler do it. You will need that too. - The HX35 might be okay depending on what you do otherwise. Then.... if you still can't run the standard 7th gear you can install D 19 low side PD gears which will make low side slower. Are you the one that emailed me on the 341 cube engine kit? Won't be easy, but could (possibly) be done. With an inline pump could certainly be done. Now, what will you be competing against?? If it is big 400 series Internationals and John Deeres you might want to consider a bigger tractor. Good luck |

Competition right now is a 4320 but I'm making more power just need some more momentum 6th gear says I'm running between 8.7 and 8.9 mph. Doesn't phase motor one bit ed built pump now and it runs strong

Do you have any video of your tractor pulling? If the AC pullers on this forum see it pulling it is easier for them to offer advice.

Oh wow, just my opinion, but if your now running a .390, a 450 pump head Will very noticeable improvement, I had that 180 running 7th pretty easy on a cool night

Big difference between running 6th and running 7th.......big difference.
When you get enough power to run 7th, there are other things that need to be done to handle the amount of power the engine will develop. I always recommend hardened connecting rods, a good head gasket, a clutch that will hold etc. You can take a stock farm tractor and run 6th gear with a different pump and injectors, stiffen the clutch and increase the pressure on the PD clutch - no other changes. To run 7th includes many more things to make it work correctly and not break. Edited by O.P.S. Heads - 30 May 2015 at 9:23am |

Rods are hardened good head and have good clutch im going to try 7th if track is dry. Main problem was egts but water injection took care of that going to try 50% methanol
