I just bought an allis 712H previous owner had the kohler 12hp k301 rebuilt. New .010 over piston and turned the crank .010 under. Did not put new valve guides in and the valve do not look new. But he said that it now blows oil out the breather and and carb and it was running rough. He said he rebuilt the carb and installed new points. Any tips or points to look for when I start working on it. He had the head off so I have not started the engine yet. Also a cool feature I saw is that some added 3" wheel spacer to the rear axle. Looks pretty cool with the wide stance. Are these common. I think they are dual wheel spacers

Blowing oil out could be a few things from simple to the engine having an internal problem. First make sure the crankcase isn't overfull of oil. That's the simple part. I guess if the valve train was in real bad shape it could blow oil, but I usually see em' burn oil before I see small engines blowing oil out. Possibly ring end gap not correct? Tough call there. My old Kohlers leaked oil.   LOL!

sounds like the middle of the breather is missing or damaged       oil in the carb probley if breather connects to the air cleaner   if it has excessive blowby then there must be some piston, cylinder  problem

The breather may have been assembled incorrectly.
