I'm looking to flush the transmission and torque tube on my D14.  I have heard that diesel fuel works well for this.

Will it cause any damage to the seals or power director?  Since the engine is not in the tractor now, is it ok if the diesel sits in there for sometime?

Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks.

Shouldn't hurt at all.  With a running tractor, I have put five gallons in it and then drove the tractor around the yard a little bit to splash it around.  Others may have other opinions, though! HTH.

I'm betting the diesel probably won't hurt. I flushed out my Oliver 60 trans with one of those 3 gal bench top parts washers. I set the parts washer under the drain plug and put a long piece of hose on the original spout and I was able to flush out all of the dirt/sludge easily. I used mineral spirits for solvent.
