I had a Mathews Rotary Sythe a flail mower. If you kept the paddles sharpened and set right against the cutter bar, you could make your pasture look like a manacured golf course. You had to go slow. Mine was a 9'. I don't think 38 HP will handle 1 that wide. I pulled it with a tractor that was putting out 70 HP on the PTO.

Did it handle brush pretty good. How about if you hit a gopher mound or stump?
