The hillside chain has spikes or flat metal welded on the metal slats so that the stuff doesn't slide to the downhill side as it is going up the raddle platform.
Do you have the cob shield on the back of the raddle platform to keep cobs from going underneath the raddle platform and jambing the slats? I had the same problem with the K. In fact, Ron had bought a brand new wooden raddle chain for the K, and had 3 or 4 broken slats on it when I bought it. He never had a cob shield for it. |

Here's a decent price for a hillside raddle. http://www.abilenemachine.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=1721&cat=550&page=1&XCARTSESSID=hhxfievq
They also have the standard metal raddle http://www.abilenemachine.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=1721&cat=550&page=1&XCARTSESSID=hhxfievq OR, if you just have a broken link, or maybe a broken slat or 2, I have some extra chain links here, if you want them, to patch yours together to take advantage of the 57 degree and sunshine weather we are going to have today. |
