 Topic: F2 rock door concave for corn and beans

Can I let the concave on the rock door of my f2 for corn and soybeans instead of removing it for corn and replacing it for soybeans??? What are any negatives of having it on the door all the time?

Only way I ever ran an F-series was 1-3-5 which means 1 is on the door for everything.

Which cylinder rasp bars are installed in your F2?
-Standard 1/4” rib spacing?
-Or Aggressive 1/2” rib spacing?

Standard rasp bar is kind-of its “negative” that you ask about. It can thresh ok. But agressive rasp bars allow far greater capacities.
Anyway, with standard rasp bars try placing a “well worn” (1/2 as tall?) concave in door (#1 position) & leave it for all crops(corn,soy,cereal, etc).
F2 offers 6 concave positions. Like DrAllis says, use 1,3,5.
1,3,5 usually offers best results?
More importantly, what’s your F2’s other settings that you use for its cylinder heights & cylinder speeds per crop??

The claim was that bar on door in corn causes extra vibration and wear on latch. Have done both and have no data to support claims either way. Maybe after thousands of acres?

I'm running 20" pulley as fast as it goes (tach doesn't work) clearance at 1/4" later in afternoon I can slow cylinder down as it starts cracking beans
