Hi all,

Might be another stupid question, but a recent PM I received got me to wondering.  What are the differences between WD and WC generators?

Are they all interchangeable, or not?  I just assumed they were, but now am wondering if they really are?  If there are differences, how can one identify what tractor a generator belongs on (say a swap meet find)?

Like I said, this may be a dumb question, but I'm brave enough to ask, LOL!  Educate me please! Thanks!

Hmmmm.... Jacob, I could answer that if I had a WD parts book to go with my WC book!

Delco was rather free with changing parts and part numbers. There are several different Delco numbers to fit a 4020 gas, all with the same ratings and mountings. And several different distributors between 1963 and 1968.

As far as I know they are, I took one off our WC one time and put it on the WD when that stopped working, other than checking polarity it worked fine......Just wondering,, if anyone got to the auction close to Hersher Ill. on RT. 17 today, was wondering what the D12 high crop brought thanks in advance for any news, Wayne.
