If I turn up the pump on the 6080, does the rpm increase. I know it adds more fuel to make more HP. We are putting in some rules at our local pulls that the stock class cannot exeed the stock rpms. Also what would be a good intercooler to put on it.

No, the governer is seperate in a Rosa Master

The fuel is controlled by a set of plungers, a leaf spring sets the stroke of these plungers, I do not know if a 6080 has a 4 roller pump ( I assume it does) meaning that there are 4 plungers and 4 sets of rollers controlled by 2 leaf springs.  In order to increase fuel delivery, the leaf springs must be spread apart (tighten) to allow the plungers to stroke further.

There is also a helix controlled by the governer linkage, a stop screw limets the helix, depending on where things are set, there may be a small gain there, but it's used to trim the fuel after setting the leaf springs.

The RPM will not change.  It's controlled by another spring and by the trim screws on the  throttle arm.

Brian, I don't think turning up the pump will increase your RPM, but should still give you some more ponies.  There are not many intercoolers to choose from as far as I know.  With my stock intercooler and turbo, I am getting over 100 hp on the dyno (as high as the dyno goes).

Myron; Did you buy that D17 in Bowmanville. Acoording to Norms book, both of our 6080s should have intercoolers but they dont. I cant remember the serial #, but they are not to far from the end of production. Do you have any decent 16.9x34 tires you want to sell. I had the 6080 cast centres machined to fit the D17, and now I need some rubber.

No, I'm not going after it.  It needs more work than I like - engine, tranny, brakes to start with (engine alone will be pricey).  I've got enough projects on the go now.  I do not have any 16.9s, but I might have a set of 18.4 x 34s in 6 months or so.  I'll let you know.
