Bought a early R52 Gleaner this weekend, hair over 2900 engine and 2100 separator issues. Story goes they were running wheat with it in 2018 when the blower belt broke and killed the engine. Towed it back to the barn, got it fired up to unload the hopper and there it sat until now. He noticed that when you spun the pulley the fan blade didn't spin, which he thought meant the blower was broke and after pricing a new one they decided to stick with their Case and sell the Gleaner. From my understanding this has the hydraulic coupling so without oil pressure the shafts aren't connected. In the process of that he did unbolt the drive pulley and fan blade and threw all the hardware in a box. The shafts and bearings actually feel pretty good, so before i start spending $$$ i'd like to put it back together with a new belt and see if theres actually an issue. I've only ran it long enough to get it on a semi and into a barn but the engine seems to be running great, sounds healthy and no smoke. What i'm trying to figure out is how it goes back together. I downloaded a service manual for the engine but the pictures are too grainy to really make out anything, and now that the Agco parts site is gone i don't know where else to find a parts breakdown aside from a dealer. Looking at the face of the shafts it looks like theres slots for an o-ring, like they would seal between the shafts and the back side of the fan and drive pulley. But there are no loose o-rings in the box. There are 2 nuts with captured o-rings like an o-ring boss fitting, they fit the studs coming out on either end and the o-rings fit the slot in the shafts. It honestly looks like i'd have to put these nuts on before the pulley or fan to seal the ends of the shafts which would act like a spacer. So am i missing some hardware, or is there something funky going on here? I'll get some pictures here in a bit to show whats going on as its a bit confusing without knowing how it came apart.

I know it changed but when i was looking yesterday morning i couldn't find anything for an R52, when i was on the old site you could find every parts book no problem. I had no issues on the old site looking up anything for this. But with my current issue i believe i'm just an idiot. The nuts have plastic inserts that i thought were to hold o-rings which made no sense, but now i think their to help center the pulley and fan on the stud which does make sense. Guess thats what i get for working on it till midnight on a Sunday.

Look at the fan blade leading edges. If they are paper thin the fan will not cool the engine. There are nitrided / hardened fans and the std fan - both high but the std fan will last a long time except in really dusty conditions.

The blades have some wear, and if i decide to keep the R52 this winter i'll replace it. But i reassembled the blower and put a new belt on it, everything is working great. Had to road it 15 miles yesterday and the temp gauge stayed right in the middle even dealing with some hills.
