Guys,

Other than serious oil leak from real of engine (Worn thrust , I believe) It runs pretty good for a 90 year old truck!

I watched the videos but I must have missed the part where you did a huge burnout? Ha. That truck is sweet and you must feel great about having it back on the road!

What a neat old truck. Thanks for the videos; you even have those old turn signals working. It's been enjoyable watching your progress. Is there more you are going to do to the truck or are you ready for another project? Lots of time left till maple syrup season.

Allis folks,
Thanks guys! The truck is running good except for bad rear engine oil leak. Several other small projects on it but would like to get moving on the first block. Plan is to get machining work done and new insert style bearings in place, basically a bare short block to be ready to accept all the stuff from this engine. Which would be the .100 over pistons, the valves guides, springs, keepers and adjustable tappets. Along with manifold, carb, fuel pump, distributor, water pump, head, timing cover, and other misc....

A couple more clips:

Our Christmas card to you folks!:

Regards,
 Chris

Good to see it back on the road.  I remember you saying you hoped to have it running for the show in July or August, but there always seems to be something more to deal with.  Better then never!  Are you going to replace the drivers side window?

John,
I doubt I will replace the glass.  Too many other irons in the fire! I will add it to the list.
 Hope things are good!

I'm working on procuring a 1964 Dodge one ton that a friends dad bought from the lumber company he worked for when they closed in the late 1970's.  Body is in excellent shape, no rust and only a small dent on the passenger side running board.  I think the engine is ok, will need tires and some of the wood bed replaced.  Will be a nice truck to go to the Farmers Market with as I can haul a lot more empty fruit boxes home and won't have to unload it between Markets like I have to with my pickup.  She has a bunch of neat old stuff but she and her sister and brother are not getting along well over how to dispose of the stuff.  Families!

John,
Go get it! If its in good shape, you will have a lot of fun with it! Sounds like a write off for your business too. Get it home and then you can get some pictures posted. We can help with that too.

 Chris

tadams, ACinSC, Folks,
Yea the ragged ol' truck gets lots of looks! Weather has finally turned cold and snowy. The 32 gets to rest in the shop.
But just prior to this cold spell I took it out for a late afternoon run. Here with just the parking lights on:

View from the back I added the non stock red tail lights on either side of the stock tail light/ license plate light. Also added the non stock turn signals but these are at leat 70 years old or more.

Several projects to do on it. I have another block that I would like to build, and replace the current temporary engine. Also looking at some glass repairs and the window channels in the cab.
Regards,
 Chris

Folks,
It has been a long time since I updated you on the 1932 Commercial dump truck.
Part of the reason was that my internet connection was so slow the picture would not load / download for resizing and or viewing. Well I did not stop taking pictures. Here are a few:
The machine work was completed on the #1 engine (short block). A 4 cylinder "B" mill, All fresh components in a good leak free replacement Ford block.

I did the assembly work on the engine, pulled the temporary B engine, swapped all the goodies and set it back in place:

Rebuilt the clutch assembly with new bushings and cross pin:

Wooden floor boards were patched sandded and stained:

Fuel gauge system was cleaned, repaired, and installed. The speedo was removed gently cleaned and oiled and functions again:

Testing the two post truck lift with the 32 on board:

Cheryl and I have driven the 32 just over 1000 miles with the new engine in 2023.
We have also hauled the ragged ol' truck to a national Early Ford V8 club event in Tennessee in June 2022, and a Grand National show in Detroit in June of 2023.

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl
