Which decals for a 1948 WD?  Black or Blue?  Long A & S or even letters?

Lyle Wacker decals if you care enough about the correct color and letter size.  Give them your serial number and the decals will right.  Not cheap.
Thanks

De. Allis, did I read someplace that in 1950 or 1951 they started using the WD decal on the radiator?

Wacker Decals are the only way to go.  I am restoring a WD-45 right now and am using wacker decals.  I am still amazed at the quality and originality even after purchasing many sets from them.  I think there should be a WD decal on the radiator shroud because my 1951 has got one and the Decals were from Wacker.  I think the first WD's did not have the decal.

Terry Dean's A-C data book says the "WD" on the radiator started in about early 1953, the last year of production. I've never seen a decal set without the WD, even from Wackers, but my 1951 was original and did not have "WD" on it. I wish someone would have a 100% correct set for the WDs as I've seen a hundred different sets, some even have Power Crater decals in them...it feels as though some of these decal suppliers are just guessing.

Maple-Hunter, give them the serial number and you will get the correct set for that serial. Have used them on Allis and Moline and they do a very nice accurate job! If the serial says no WD you wont get one unless you ask for one, same with Power Crater.

First year WD (1948) is only year of this model to use Blue decals and also no WD decal. Every A-C model made the switch to Black starting in 1949. That being said, my 1950 C wears a nice set of die cut Blue & White decals and is painted corporate orange as well, not out of ignorance, I just prefer it that way. Didn't build it for the "correct police", I did it for me!

Thanks for all the replies.  Are you positively sure about the 1948's using blue decals?  My dad thought they all were black.  Also, is it possible that the "WD" decals on the radiator were placed on some of these tractors later?  I'm a long ways from decals yet, but I was just wondering what was correct for a 48 WD.  Seems there's so much conflicting information out there about the blue vs black, different styles, which decals were used and which were not, etc. etc.

1948 "WD"'s had blue decals with the long "A" and long"S" and didn't have the "WD" sticker on the radiator as it was black, not blue.

From what I've read over the years, the model designation decals began with the 1951 model year.  Here is a previous discussion on the subject:
