AGCO has been shooting themselves in the foot for decades, squeezing out the smaller dealers. The inevitable wasting away.

My trip is 45+ minutes from farm to nearest dealer and has been since mid 1980's. But they're good to deal with.
Next dealer that is worth going to is almost 2 hours away.

If your talking about OHIO AG they announced in May that they would close December 31st. Then in July they changed it to August 31st. This has caused a lot of issues in the Ohio dealer network for all of us other dealers and AG Revolution will be opening stores to cover most of the Ohio AG areas. The original plan was to have a seamless transition but when Ohio AG moved up close date by 3 months it didnt happen that way.
This was not an AGCO Decision, this is 100% on Ohio Machinery the parent company of Ohio AG Equipment

Gleaner dealer is 2 1/2 hours away, Deere 1 1/4 CIH 1 1/4 in a different direction, NH next door to Deere Kubota is 10 minutes but will never buy one so that doesn’t matter. I’d be thrilled if my go to Agco dealer was only an hour away.

And how many farmers was there in that town? We would starve if we had to survive on a 20 mile radius.

Some of those former AGCO dealers are still around doing just fine servicing the local area. They just can't SAY they're an AGCO dealer any more. There are 2 near my parents home in the middle of nowhere, one 15 minutes south and one 20 minutes west that USED to be AGCO dealers that are still in business, just not as AGCO. But you can still go there and order parts (how they actually get them I don't know).

The dealer was North central Ag in Ashland Ohio, lost their lease on the building, Maybe 12/13 years ago.
They then moved closer to me In New London Ohio, They were then bought by a John Deere dealer and then bought by Ohio Ag. (Caterpillar Dealer) still carried the AGCO Brand. But they completely closed, I though maybe they were just going to drop the Agco and Fendt brands.

Ohio Machinery closed all of their Ohio AG Stores as of 8/31, this was announced in May and end date changed in July. AG Revolution is picking up their Salem and Liberty Center locations and will be moving to a new location in Upper Sandusky. The New London, Millersburg, and Lima Locations have just been closed.

I don't know where you are, but New London was my dealer as well.
I just got agco parts for R62 Gleaner last week from Lowe&Young in Wooster. Everything was drop-shipped from the factory to my house. Have been doing this with Claas for years, when those northern Ohio dealers closed down. Nobody has anything in stock for my old junk anyway , so a dealer in driving distance is a moot point. My Ford dealer was 1 mile from my house, and I can get the Claas parts drop-shipped to my house faster by calling the distribution center in Indiana . Service , of course, is a different matter. |

R and R Equipment closed up a dozen years or so ago. I haven't found a close 1 since. The ones in Creston, New Virginia, Osceola, Humeston, Indianola, Mt Ayre, etc are all gone. I still have my 200, my B, and a few pieces of AC stuff.
