What would it take to build a competitive antique puller (Pre 1960) for the 6 mph class?
Has to use stock block or (226 series)
Updraft carb
Stock manifold
16.9x38's top cut
20% over RPM's
say 3500 lb up to 5500

this is similar to NATPA DIV3  except DIV3 is 4mph now instead of 3.5

i see very few AC tractors competing above 4000 lbs when i look through the points so it may be pretty tough

So would 120 hp do the trick ? If so, then punch and stroke a 226 to 350 - 390 cubes. Don't know what you would do for gearing, maybe a early D17.  That would have to get you in the ballpark.

Always remember, an "M" Farmall and "88" Oliver can reach 500-550 plus cubes and the little West Allis engine is stretched at around 450.
