There were 150 built in 1938 so chances are most of those were unstyled.

The first styled must have been 1938. Is that correct?

Yes, there were about 900 styled WC's in 1938 so some of the 1938 Maintainers could have been styled but most were probably unstyled.

You look like the King on the Maintainer Fred. As you know I have a '38 Unstyled Maintainer that I have shown at several GOTO's. I don't have a recent picture. The Maintainer owners club is very small! |

The rear end in my pulling trctor came out of a maintainer. It has a real SLOW first and reverse and second is almost the same as 1st on a WC. What is the serial number stamped on rear end and did they have another nameplate/serial tag like the speed patrol?? Got my rear end from a neighbor that parted it out and when I got there this and part of the blade setup was all that was not cut up

The Mainter has a tag with Maintainer on it up on left front frame for the mainter ,but still has the serial # stamped on raer center housing for the year .
Maybe the maintainer he parted was a late one at the end of production ,W Patrol did start in 1940 ! Edited by Fred in Pa - 03 Nov 2011 at 7:38am |

Fred, I made to the other shop and looked tonight. My serial number stamped on the rear end is 94741. That looks to be a 1940. I asked the guy and he said it was a narrow front WC with a blade under it. I did not see it, just going by what he said. By the way, nice maintainer!!
