    Posted: 13 Jan 2012 at 6:37pm
Anyone have the number for the front main seal on the D19?    I am going to tear it down tomorrow in the morning and hopefully I can get the seal out before the local bearing shop closes at noon so I can get it back together this weekend.   But if someone has the number, I can send the wife when she goes shopping in the morning and then I will have it for sure.   Thanks.

gas = 74513621
diesel = 74513621

Guess it doesn't make any difference, directly from the agco parts book.

That # is the Agco part # not the seal #. Not likely a bearing house will have that seal. Not a seal that will fit much else.  MACK

Well Mack, Tony Carbarough emailed me the Victor Reinz number.   I will try them in the morning.  So far I haven't stumped them yet, and they always have it in stock.    And for anyone else that may need it, the number is 49638  Victor  Rienz.

Some day I will learn how to read. lol You said front seal and I thought rear seal. The front seal is a common seal and the bearing house should have it. Sorry for my mistake.  MACK

I agree with you, that rear seal is one big weird one.   I had my flywheel turned by a local shop and he has a good supply of old stuff and when I talked to him about the seal, he said he had one in stock, kind of suprised me.

I got the front all tore apart and the radiator off.   I have the right socket for the front pulley but I don't have the right extension to get a decent grab on it with the impact.   And turning it by hand with a breaker bar just turns the motor over even with it in fourth gear.   Tried taking the starter out and pinching the flywheel with one hand and breaker bar with the other.   Not that coordinated.

I am off to go get my seal and the right extension/adapter.  I assume looking at the clearances that I will have to at minimum loosen up the front bolster or take it completely off to get the front pulley removed.   I want to look at the steering box anyways and also change out the wide front to the narrow front.   Hopefully I will get it all done and the wife will get her parking spot back by tomorrow night in the garage.
