I have a B that was similar 15 years ago.. I bought a used sleeve for that hole... Bought all new rings , lapped the valves, reshimmed the rod and main bearings, new gaskets... all back together running great.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Hello I’m at a crossroads where to go. I purchased a D 17 that was locked up took the head off and found number three cylinder liner was cracked in two spots. It was pushed into the water jacket area I’m guessing water got in the cylinder and froze during the winter time. The tractor is in pretty good shape and I hate to part it out but I don’t want to dump a lot of money into redoing the whole motor. Should I just pull the motor and replace one sleeve and put it back together or just put a whole new kit in it. Btw i’m looking for a whole set of valve retainer caps for it. Thanks jlogli.
