Got my d17 out today to get ready to rake hay and noticed a noise in the front , maybe water pump. Can you grease them or do you need to rebuild them?

They are sealed bearings, and you can rebuild them, but it is almost not worth it, if you do rebuild them, you need to be very careful about getting it right. I would make sure it is not something else, run it for a few moments with the fan belt off.
