Has anyone ever used an electric temperature gauge and sender out of a combine or a newer tractor to replace the tube type guage?
My series I gauge has quit and I was thinking about my options. The last one on my D19 was expensive (from AGCO) and didn't last very long (2 years). I've never replaced a guage or sender on either 190XT or the 200 and I've replaced the D19 and both D17s more than once.
Can the original bourdon tube gauge be repaired? I assume what ever liquid is used in the gauge has leaked out even though everything looks ok, there are no kinks or crushed spots, or else the mechanical parts in the gauge have failed.

Most any gauge can be repaired depending on how much money you have.
I would get a gauge and sender from NAPA and be done with it. |

Good luck making an electric one work. I'd guess unless you have converted to an alternator with a negative ground, electric won't work with a positive ground.....don't know for sure, but I'm guessing.

6 volt positive ground gauges are out there for old cars and trucks if your tractor has not been converted.

If you're going the electric gauge route, I'd recommend using Stewart Warner gauges.
