The Marvel schebler carb leaks out the bottom of the bowl from that brass looking plug that looks like a cable.  How do you stop that?  i do not even know what that plug is for.  Could it be ok and my float is stuck?  Thanks

That drain is there just for that reason. It allows fuel to run out if the fuel overflows from the fuel bowls. You could possibly have one of the float pontoons taking on fuel allowing the floats to sink. Better known as a "sinking float".  You also could have a little debris that got caught in the seat of the inlet needle allowing fuel to enter the fuel bowl area raising the float level and causing the overflow. No matter what you do, you'll need two remove the 4 screws the hold the top and bottom together and investigate the problem. I offer Carburetor service parts and rebuilding services if interested.   HTH

Sounds like your Main carb adjustment is leaking- it is located on the bottom of the bowl. Try tightening the jam nut on it, or back it off and add a bit of teflon tape in the gasket area (threaded portion) and re-tighten, otherwise replace it.

Thanks Stan R.  I did think of that but i think i isolated the leak to the drain that Steve and I are refering to. I put my finger over that drain and the leak stops.  It has to be something that is causing the gas to overflow into that part of the carb.
It has a TSX871 carb on it.  A kit cost $65 on ebay.  I have never had much luck working on carbs myself.  Also on ebay I seen a rebuilt one for $350 minus $80 for core.  I am not sure what way to go.  We do not have Allis dealers around here anymore.
Steve could you give me a app. cost and turn around time if I shipped it to you?

If you've got a little time & don't mind the shipping, send it to Steve & he'll rebuild it for you.  He did mine a while back --I hope he still offers this service?
