The power director on My D17 series 1 dosent stop when in the netural postion, if i hold the brakes real hard it stops. Even when the tractor is warmed up and it being 70 degrees outside it still dosent want to stop. it has done this since ive gotten it and i though it was maybe because it was cold outside that it wasnt working. Any help appreciated, thanks Steve

I've been told that it's normal for them to want to creep especially when the oil in them is cold.

My 180 Diesel started to not want to move very much at idle speed last fall. When gathering sap to make maple syrup this spring it got worse.a week ago we split the tractor to get the power director out and we had put all new disc plates and new seals in it 2 years ago. They looked to be in good shape and put it back together and it still was slipping. We than took the control that switches from high to low range apart and cleaned it up. It works okay now but wants to creep in neutral. Does it need adjusting in the high low shifting box?

Sounds like someone else did a "repair" job on it, either pulled shims or put in new discs, and didn't re-shim it properly. My best guess.

When I was kid on farm none of our tractors would creep in nuetral.I have climbed on an awful lot of A/C's since and most creep. My Ser.I creeps, but the Ser.IV does not. Some old timers at auctions and shows have told me if you went out and plowed all day it would take care of that.I don't know, probably in shims and adjusting power director.
