I have a D-17 w/12V + ground system that I want to change to - ground. I see by other posts on this forum that I can get the gen to charge either way by just re-polarizing the gen. How do I do that?
I also know I have to do the following:
Switch wires around on Coil,Headlites,Amp gauge and of course the battery.
Did I miss anything?
Thanks

Headlights don't care about polatity so no change is needed.

will the voltage regulator work as is ?  or does changing the polarity not matter to it?

Just curious why you want to change it to neg. ground. I just finished complete rewire of my D-17 and could have changed it like you are wanting to do,but I figure it has worked fine for 49 years so why change now. Good luck with your project !!!!

I want to go to neg ground so I can put a radio on it- helps make a long day on the tractor just a bit shorter.  ;-) Plus I'll be able to put the control box for the round baler on it if my main baler tractor goes down for any reason.

You have to look at the back of your voltage regulator to see if it is polarity sensitive.
Some will work Pos or Neg, and other only 1 way. Bob
