D-14 industrial, how many out there?

I have ran onto a D-14 industrial with fully hydraulic loader, front pump; shuttle clutch, flat back with concrete weight. I was just wondering how many were out there and if this is rare enough to get excited about. Appears to be a 1959 model.  Dave.

Don't think there was a breakdown for Ind model of these. It might make a nice addition to your collection if price is right. Then always a use for a loader .
 I have a IH 460 Utility but has a 17GPM hyd pump and a 3.5 GPM piggy-back pump for steering. Fwd - Rev box instead of TA, Front axel is IH 560 XHD spindles and few other things to set it appart from most 460's

There aren't many, at least in this area.  I was going through my D14/D17 industrial brochure (actually I think they were referred to as Utility tractors) recently and asked myself the same question.  Personally, I think it would be a neat item.  Let me know if you would like a copy of that brochure Dave.

Per Swinford's book, page 254, Dealers had to supply cleared companion, such as loaders, backhoes, mowers, other equipment.  Few dealers wanted to buy such equipment from suppliers, floor plan it, mount it on the tractor, secure financing, and contend with separate warranties.  Others offered this type equipment in a one-stop shop, so the answer is RARE.  Most of the Early industrials that I have seen were bid out to state and county road maintenance dept's.

Dave, I think that the D-14 Utility is a fairly rare tractor. I've only seen one and it had a backhoe. The loader will most likely be a Henry. It would make a good and handy addition to your collection.

 Dave !!  Do  some  checking , but  if  memory servs me  correct  if you want  to ever  put a  3-point & pto  on , you have to get parts  off the industrial,  farm  tractor won`t  work.       Tony

I'm sure that the lift arm housing, snap coupler, PTO, etc will be the same on a D-14 farm or industrial tractor. The shuttle will change the PTO speed to something like 700 rpm. This is true for all D series tractors that have the shuttle except the H-3 crawler.
