I have what I believe is a 59 D14. I found some parts but can't seem to find what I need to rebuild the levers for the hydraulics(for the bucket). I have the manual as a guide to show how to rebuild but finding the parts is another issue. I have found new levers but holy cow... I really don't think I need the housing. Maybe the valve spool seals and springs.
I will say that the bucket does function however, when put under decent load it has problems lifting. Sometimes under the same load it will be fast sometimes slow. I have increased the RPM's and it does help a little. I personally thing that it is either a spring or o rings that needed replaced. Also, where do you go to find a new air breather container? I'm striking out there as well! So where do I go to find the pesky parts!?!?!?! |

hhmm 'fast and slow' ..... Have you checked the oil level ? Needs to be checked with the loader fully up. 'beeter with more RPMs is a clue it could be a little low. Wish you were on this side of the 49th, I have a spare D-14 'air breather container' here. Hopefully others will chime in on local scrap yards for you, several vendors on this site may have what you need.

You need to aquire a 4,000 to 5,000 psi pressure gauge and plug it into your remote outlet. A healthy pump will hit 3,400 psi when you raise the lever fully and let the pump hammer away. Anything 3,000 and up is good. Until you TEST the pump you are speculating on what's going on.

I guess I should clarify a little. The faster and slower is at different times not during the same lever pull if you will.
As far as the oil level (of the tractor is fine) and the hydraulic fluid I have had it over flow on me a few times because I thought it was low as well. I will check on the pressure of the remote outlet. With the way it is acting it is almost as if one time it would be of correct pressure and then one out of 10 or so not be. I am going to test it to see where it is at this weekend to get a better idea. Gotta get the tool first! Thank you for the input!

Sounds like you have a loader with a front mounted pump and a valve stack. I'm sure the orings in valve are a standard oring that can be found at local automotive store.
Speed change up could be from sucking air between pump and oil supply. It could a oil supply tank of it's own some where that is low on oil. MACK

Good point, Mack. What hydraulic system/loader type do you have ????? Two-way hydraulics that are live whenever the engine runs ??? Or one-way plugged into the one remote outlet on the tractor ???

Your loader is a 2000 to 2,200 psi system. Nothing to do with the rear outlet on the tractor.
