I have a d14 industrial with a Henry backhoe. how do I find out what the flow rate is for front pump? I would like to put a joy stick for the loader. Thank you

Does the front pump only supply the loader and the hoe runs off the side pump? If you can find any ID #'s on the front pump you may be able to look up the flow rate. If it only supplies the front end loader my guess would be 10 to 15 GPM.

The front pump runs both hoe and loader. There is no tag on it now. If it makes a difference it has a 1" shaft coming from engine. Not a 3/4" like my D15 (7 gal/min)

Good Morning: The Operators Manual and Parts List for the Allis Chalmers D14 equipped with a Herny Mark I Backhoe shows the following:
1. Hydraulic Pump - 15 GPM 2. The Hydraulic System is designed to operate a 2000 PSI.
The above assumes that the D14 as referenced above carries the OEM pump and no design changes in the hydraulic system over the past 60 years.

I guess you can't argue with book info but I am very surprised if 15 GPM is meant to supply both loader and the hoe as the 816 backhoe models had a two stage pump, 15 + 25. It had 40 GPM capacity, nearly 3 times. Do you find the hoe on your machine has slow moving cycles?

FWIW most of the few AC D14's with a Henry hoe on them that I have seen in the field and up close had a diverter valve for either or loader/backhoe function. That being the case 15 gallons a minute supply was more than enough for good movement of the boom, dipper, bucket and left/right swing functions.
Am thinking that the D14 hydraulic design was of an era of low volume, low pressure compared to the hydraulic designs of today that require high volume and high pressure to accomodate the continued need for greater productivity.
