I run a 6' Kabota tiller with my D10.
No problem.
I love the D10/D12 PTO
wish all the D series had that feature.

If your 10/12 has it, a HiLo really helps with a tiller. Sometimes 1st isn't slow enough...

I owuld be worried about the tractor going slow enough, most of these old tractors have a pretty fast 1st gear high and tiller do better pulled slow. Of course I don't have a D12 or a tiller. You might not know until you try it

A few years ago I bought a 720 with a loader on it, it has a 3 point. It also came with a 3 point Roto-Tiller, with, I was told new engine on it. If any of you wood like it, make an offer. I've never used it.

my D10 III has hi/low...
Would not recommend running one without hi/low...
no problem with power just gotta go slow.
OAN: i dont believe D12 Would cover 5' foot print. Unless you like tracks on your tilled ground.

Benny, I want to use it to hill up raised beds. Not worried about the tire tracks between the beds. They get covered with weed barrier . Thanks, Tracy

I make at least 2 tilling passes in opposite directions. The 1st pass is at 1/2 throttle, and the final pass in the opposite direction at full throttle! It is much easier on the equipment and hopefully do not find anything left buried in the ground! The CA can handle the 4 ft tiller fine! Tire tracks are to the outside and not a problem!

I have a 5' on my D-14, offset to cover the right rear , works great though I have to feather the 'big stick' for 1st passes. You need to go slooooow with a tiller as others have said. Adding lots of compost will really help. I'd till N,S,E,W to mix everything really well and 'level' the land.
One option is how you setup the garden. If you use a 4' or 5' , with 'no offset', the tire tracks become the pathways to get TO the weeds, er, veggies ! You really do not lose any 'garden growing' area,minimal weeds in the paths and beds are clearly marked out. Did this for years.
