Just got my valve guide driver from the mail box. Before I start banging away, I was wondering why the book says to drive them out from the top down thru the head ? Seems to me there would be less travel distance if driven from the bottom toward the top . Just wondering

They have carbon around bottom which would have to be driven through head plus the guide usually has a taper that the tool will fit on top. MACK
