Guys, one of the hydraulic cylinders on my 3-point is leaking. It leaks under the pressure of having to hold up the arms. In other words over a week it has leaked enough to drop it to the bottom of the travel. So.....I took both cylinders apart and then bought new o-rings and seals. Problem is that one of my plungers has some little "digs" in it. They are very slight but they may be an issue. If the cylinder leaks because of them what options do I have. Can I buy new cylinders that are close? Can I get just a new plunger? Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
D-10 Series 3 Jeff Thanks

if I recall correctly, when I did new seals & o rings on my CA rams it also had a couple of small scars (but indents only, no "bumps") which so far have not caused any problems.
the rams work great and hold at any height. BUT... I am definitely no expert. if you can manage to get a couple of clear pictures on here, it will help the people who know what they're talking about give better advice.

3 Ford 8N's I loan to neighbors, but the '52CA, '41B and little B1 I do not.

If you measure everything (stroke/length/pin size/hose locations) and know the operating pressure of the cyl, (from the specs, in the manual), Surpluscenter.com might have a match...

You can have the rod re-chromed by a hydraulic shop.

Was the hydraulic oil actually leaking out the end of the cylinder and dripping on the floor ? If not, then the leak could be in the hydraulic valve control assembly. Gary |

When I had my D10 III cylinders apart I chucked the small end in the lathe and cleaned and polished with #600 or 800 wet/dry paper. This was in '85-'86, it's a '65 model year, worked fine, not 100 pct and a little damp today but a little seepage everywhere I put new seals/gaskets. So far I've another 30 years on it, and might go for another redo.

Charlie -
I took one whole assembly plus the seals off the other in to a place that specializes in seals of all kinds. (in Riverside, Calif.). I also had the part number. The part number did no good, they ignored everything else and just matched the sample seal.
