Are you saying that your previous post (on page 3) did not provide the information you needed?
Fed cattle this morning (32F) with D17IV, backed out of shop and left front wheels turned up on a slight grade while tractor in 4th gear and PD lever in neutral. Did not even have to set brakes and within 10 minutes of doing other stuff before hopping on to grab a bale with the 3-pt., creeping almost entirely gone on level surface as oil warmed up.
Picked up 900# bale, hopped off to open gate with PD in neutral, no creep.
Various D15 S1 and S2's all act a tad different with cold oil, all have no creep when warmed up.

When the PD creeps, you step on the brakes!

Put transmission in neutral.  It is impossible for the PD to creep when nothing is in gear.

On December 25th he asked the same question. He either didn't read the responses or didn't like the answers he got.

That kinda defeats purpose of having a "transmission" clutch and yes a tractor can creep when gear shift is in neutral, whit heavy gear oil in cold temperatures.
It's just SO simple to put your foot on the brake pedal.

The reason the dual-range Power Director clutch had shims in it was to be able adjust it when constant use of the clutch in either range would wear the friction discs/separator plates. This wear would result is a soft snap into either range, and when worn enough, could cause slipping of the clutch under heavy loads. Under no circumstances was "shimming" to be used for someone who complains about creeping with cold oil. If it is shimmed incorrectly, I suppose that could aggravate creeping. But if it is shimmed incorrectly, that means someone has been in there doing something he shouldn't have been doing.  Shimming isn't meant to correct for the hand lever jumping into neutral either.

They creep less with cold oil if you put the trans in a higher gear. That is what I do with the XT. Seems to warm up the oil a little while the engine is warming up then it operates with less drag in the lower gears. I like tractors with a Power Director best of all.

That is so very true. Having the tranny in low gear makes the creep issue seem like more of a problem as compared to 3rd or 4th gears.
